The Mission of the School of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering at Oregon State University is to:
- educate students to be work-ready and socially responsible B.S., M.Eng., and M.S. engineers who are prepared for successful careers or further study of chemical, biological, and environmental engineering;
- educate Ph.D. students to be leaders in research, academia and industry in the areas of chemical, biological, and environmental engineering;
- conduct innovative and internationally recognized research in chemical, biological, and environmental engineering;
- stimulate economic development in Oregon and nationwide by translation of research into the private sector;
- communicate chemical, biological, and environmental engineering knowledge to the public through educational outreach programs and policy consulting.
CBEE Vision
The School of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering is moving forward to creating an absolutely
unique educational and research environment in which engineering students are
inculcated in the interface between biological, chemical and physical principles
and applications. All students will learn cutting edge application of chemical
engineering, biotechnology, and environmental systems. Multidisciplinary collaboration
will become the norm in our classroom and laboratories as we prepare our students
for the 21st century workplace. We believe this unique learning environment
will allow us to attract bright and underrepresented students to OSU. Our vision
is to: (1) become national leaders in creating new technologies (2) become a
recognized promoter of economic development through innovation; and (3) continue
to be a national leader in advanced engineering education. |
