Analytical Lab

The analytical lab features an array of state-of-the-art equipment. Pictured here is the gas chromatograph (GC). Gas chromatography is an analytical technique used to determine the molecular composition and concentrations of various chemicals in water and soil samples.

Other major equipment includes a mass selective detector (coupled with a GC); an emission spectrophotometer; an ion chromatograph with conductivity detector; a high pressure liquid chromatograph with UV-VIS detector; a high pressure liquid chromatograph with UV-VIS detector; a carbon analyzer for solid analysis; and a scanning UV-visible spectrophotometer.
The analytical lab also features a purge and trap system (shown here with a GC); autosamplers for fraction collection; automatic titrimeters; centrifuges; large scale columns (tens of centimeters to meters) for packed bed experiments; fluorometers; spectrophotometers; syringe pumps; and water deionizers and purification systems.
