CONNECT WEEK at the College of Engineering!

Story Posted: Thu, Sep 8, 2005

September 19-24, 2005

The College of Engineering supports the transition process for new students through educational programs and social events. First year and transfer students have an opportunity to be on campus the week before classes begin, and will participate in a variety of activities.

Each freshman is assigned to a 2-hour informational session on Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 21-22), where essential information for all engineering students will be discussed, including technology orientation, introduction to campus resources, and meetings with peer advisors, faculty, and administrators, and COE Dean, Ron Adams.

All day Friday (Sept. 23) COE peer advisors will be available for individual assistance, campus tours, and technology help.

Especially for Women Engineers

2 all-female orientation classes are offered! Female freshman students may enroll in either ALS 111 (section 18) or ALS 112 (section 4). These classes will enable you to become familiar with college resources, and will give you a chance to meet female faculty (including our 2 female department chairs!) and upper division mentors.

Both classes will meet on Wednesdays, 4:00-5:20pm.

ALS 112, section 4, includes an outdoor adventure during CONNECT week! (Sunday, Sept. 18-Monday, Sept 19). We will hike, camp, and raft the white water rapids! Sign up today! http://catalog.oregonstate.edu/CourseDetail.aspx?subjectcode=ALS&coursenumber=112
