Brit was born and raised in Knoxville, TN, but loves the natural wilderness Oregon has to offer. Her hobbies range from hiking, camping, biking, fishing, crabbing, and crawfishin' to knitting, writing, painting, and taking advantage of Oregon's exquisite coffee selection. She has a love for outreach, disseminating science into minority and rural communities, promoting an inclusive engineering environment, and participating in social justice and environmental activism.
Brit has developed a love for xanthan gum and its fantastic properties as the lucky protégé of Skip Rochefort, for whom she will be eternally grateful.
Brit is CEO/CFO of Dragon Materials, a materials characterization and consulting firm.
Brit is a fledgling entrepreneur and will serve as the 2017-2018 CBEE Graduate Student Association (GSA) Social Chair
