Interests and Research:
Dr. Mark Dolan's research focuses on biological processes for the treatment
of hazardous wastes, and on the fate and transport of organic contaminants
in the environment. He specializes in aerobic and anaerobic microbial
transformation of chlorinated solvents. He has been involved in a number
of field demonstrations of aerobic cometabolic transformation of chlorinated
solvents.
Dr. Dolan is also affiliated with the Western
Region Hazardous Substance Research Center.
Teaching:Dr. Mark Dolan has been teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Environmental Engineering at Oregon State University since 1997. Specific interests in teaching are biological process in the environment and in the treatment of water and hazardous substances. Courses he has taught include Introduction to Environmental Engineering, Microbiol Processes in the Environment, Biological Processes in Wastewater Treatment, Fate and Transport of Organic Chemicals in Environmental Systems, and Characterization of Water and Wastewater.
