Cell and tissue preservation technologies (cryopreservation, freeze drying, desiccation, hypothermic storage). Cell-based devices such as biosensors. Cell membrane permeability. Nucleation and crystal growth processes in multicomponent systems. Applications of microscale fabrication technologies in biology and medicine (e.g., bio-MEMS).
