Interests and Research:
From 1986 to 1997, Ann Kimerling managed the Environmental Engineering research lab facility and assisted in graduate research projects. Since the 1993 inception of the EPA-funded Western Regional Lead Training Center, she has been coordinating and teaching classes through EPA Region 10 Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska. Her specific interests in teaching are history, sources, and health effects of lead and its products; chemical and radioactive analysis of lead; and lead regulatory issues.
Teaching:
Mrs. Kimerling teaches introductory lead topics, XRF and chemical analytical lead techniques, abatement techniques, and respiratory/personal protective equipment training. She coordinates and teaches EPA-accredited Lead Inspector, Lead Risk Assessor, Lead Abatement for Supervisors, and Lead Abatement Worker classes.
