GROWTH CURVES OF ANTI-BACTERIA RESISTANT STRAINS OF E. COLI

The goal of this project is to show how the presence of anti-bacteria affects the growth of resistant bacteria.


Grow equal amounts of e.coli into one flask containing media and another flask containing media and Kanamycin (antibiotic).
Construct a growth curve showing cell quantity vs. time and color vs. time

Tests:

Dilute cultures at various times and take the optical density (O.D.) at each time to measure the growth.
Count the number of colonies after 24 hours of incubation.
