Teacher Application
Program Objectives:
The goals of this portion of the SESEY Program are to help high school
teachers develop an understanding of the engineering profession, and
to integrate this new knowledge into their respective high school curriculums.
Teachers selected for participation in the program must commit to implementing
an engineering educational module, developed during the program, into
their current teaching materials. Specific program goals include:
- Link OSU faculty and secondary education instructors throughout
the state of Oregon
- Express a holistic view of the engineering profession, including
the distinctions among the variety of engineering sub-disciplines
- Develop a high-school level, science and engineering module to
be implemented during the 1997-98 academic year
- Continue interaction with OSU faculty, expanding upon discussions
initiated during the program
Application:
Teachers interested in participating in this program should first contact
Dr.
Skip Rochefort. Application materials will include a current curriculum
vita and a response to the following questions:
- Why are you interested in participating in this program?
- How will you implement the science and engineering educational
module you develop?
- What grade-levels will be impacted by your newly developed educational
module?
