Undergraduate Scholarships
The School of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering awards scholarships each year to students
in each of three categories: incoming freshmen from high school, transfer and continuing students.
Approximately $70,000 in scholarships is awarded annually to students from these categories, in addition to graduate teaching assistants
and research assistantships at the graduate level.
Department scholarships are awarded to full-time students based on outstanding
academic performance, as well as service to the department and the engineering
profession. Students must maintain a set level of academic achievement in order
to qualify for these awards. Scholarship applications should be submitted
by Feb. 1st for award the following fall.
High School Students
In addition to standard tuition remission scholarships, the department sponsors
the Pete and Rosalie Johnson
Scholarship, which targets high school students entering
the CBEE program. The $11,000 award is distributed over the
freshman-senior years and, in addition to tuition remission, pays for a summer
research position upon completion of the freshman year.
