CBEE Graduation Celebration: Graduating seniors and their families are invited to the School of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering’s graduation celebration on Friday, June 15, in the Corvallis High School gymnasium at 1400 Northwest Buchanan Ave. Seating will begin at 6 p.m. The ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m. with light refreshments to follow. Direct any questions to Charlotte Williams in 116 Johnson Hall or by email to email@example.com.
Graduation survey: The College of Engineering Graduation Placement Survey takes less than two minutes to complete, and participation by all graduating seniors and graduate students is important to the School of CBEE. (Students who complete the survey before graduation will receive a gift.) The survey asks about your experience at OSU, how well your degree has prepared you, and your future plans. The information will be used for continuous improvement of the College of Engineering and the School of CBEE and also for accountability to stakeholders. Personal information will be kept confidential and no identifying information will be made public. Complete the survey online or in the CBEE main office in Johnson 116 (see Charlotte Williams).
Student job opportunity: OSU Campus Recycling seeks students to serve as route drivers for summer and beyond. The position includes very hands-on, physical work, collecting and preparing recycling and surplus materials for their next step on their journey to better reuse or remanufacture. It is also a good opportunity to learn how this work is managed and the many dynamics of how materials management fits into and supports higher levels of sustainability. The application deadline is June 18. Check out the posting online.
Free research training: Oregon Sea Grant has partnered with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality to offer the Oregon Applied Sustainability Experience internship program for students and part of the training is open to any student, not just program interns! Sustainability Research Training for Students will be offered June 21 in Salem at the Oregon Department of Energy. Students will learn about tools and techniques from professionals in agencies, NGOs, and academia. Topics include green chemistry, life cycle assessment, pollution prevention and energy efficiency. Lunch is included but enrollment will be limited to 35 people. RSVP by June 17. Pre-registration is required. Sign up today!
