Advising Appointments

Advising appointments are required once per term for all CBEE undergraduate students to obtain their PIN number for registration for the following term. Please schedule your appointment through the links above.

Walk-in Advising

CBEE Advisors provide one walk-in hour daily, from 3-4pm. These hours are intended for students with quick 1-15 minute questions. No PINs will be distributed during walk-in hours.

Late Policy

If you arrive to a scheduled advising appointment 5 minutes or more late, you may be asked to reschedule. If you arrive 10 minutes or more late, you must reschedule. When we reserve time for you, we require all of that time to provide you with the best quality work possible. When you are late it decreases the advisors ability to accomplish this.

We strive to see every student as close to their appointment time as possible. It is your responsibility to remember your appointment and to be on time.  We understand that true emergencies happen. We ask that you please be courteous of your advisors valuable time and attention. The Advisors, Faculty and Staff thank you.

No Show Policy

No penalty for the first no show on a scheduled appointment. If you no show on a 2nd appointment or more, we will withhold your PIN for registration until the final day of Phase I registration. If you schedule an appointment and need to cancel, please contact your advisor.

CBEE Curriculum & Degree Requirements

Advising Guides

CBEE students generally earn their B.S. degree in 4-5 years. All CBEE majors require 192 credits for graduation. Upper division engineering courses are limited to students who have been accepted into Pro School.

The following advising guides give an overview of the requirements for each undergraduate B.S. degree in CBEE. These guides include information about course prerequisites and sample term-by-term plans to graduate within 4 years. To create an individualized curriculum plan, log in to MyDegrees through MyOSU and utilize the Planner. As of AY 2018-19, the use of Planner will be required for all College of Engineering students.

Transfer Student Resources

Transfer students are encouraged to reach out to CBEE advisors before transferring to OSU. We can help you understand how your transfer courses will apply to your degree at OSU and help you navigate the requirements for your degree. CBEE majors have heavily sequenced coursework, much of which is limited by acceptance into Pro School, so we encourage you to reach out to obtain an accurate assessment of time to degree completion.

Grade Requirements

Students must achieve a C or better in all required courses (exceptions are HHS, PAC, perspectives, synthesis classes) or the course will be considered missing.

Pre-core GPA calculation for Professional School Admission: Both OSU and transfer grades are included, and the course may be repeated for grade replacement (see pre-core calculator). The grade from the second take, no matter where the class was taken, will be used in the pre-core GPA calculation.  MyDegrees does not always accurately reflect the pre-core GPA calculation.

OSU GPA: A course taken at OSU must be repeated at OSU for grade replacement in the OSU GPA calculation. The grade from the second take at OSU will be used in the grade calculation.

In both GPA calculations: A third repeat might be necessary to achieve C or better, but it would not be used in the GPA calculation.
